Two of the biggest brands in Youth Soccer – Surf Sports and Crossfire – partner to bring the Best of the Best to the Pacific Northwest

San Diego, CA., May 2, 2024 — Surf Sports, the nationally leading organization in elite youth soccer tournaments, is proud to partner with Crossfire Premier, one of the country’s top youth soccer clubs. By joining forces to create new elite competition in the Pacific Northwest, the two organizations are living their mission to provide players with the best experiences and opportunities, especially those pursuing competition at the highest level.

Effective immediately, the Crossfire Challenge will take place over 2 weekends this July 2024 and become Surf Cup Northwest (Surf Cup NW). Historically, Crossfire Challenge has been the premier youth tournament in the Pacific Northwest, hosting over 600 teams from the U.S. and Canada at 60 Acres Park in Redmond, WA.

Surf Cup NW and the Surf Cup Championship are unique in that they offer competition to compete for the Best of the Best, regardless of league platform. The regional tournament will host all age groups (U8-10 7v7, U11-12 9v9, U13-19 11v11) with 3 division levels (Best of the Northwest, Gold, and Silver), giving premier-level teams the ability to compete against each other for a chance to win in their region and ultimately nationally.

Winners of this year’s Surf Cup NW “Best of the Northwest” bracket will automatically be placed into the “Best of the Best” division of the Surf Cup Championship. Over the next few years, Surf Cup plans to expand to five Championship Series events across the U.S. The existing international Surf Cup event in Salou, Spain, will also be a Championship Series event.

“This is a friendship and a partnership that started 20 years ago with Mike Connerly and continues today.  We are excited to work together with Surf Cup and look forward to a great event!” said Bernie James.

“The Crossfire organization has always represented excellence and a commitment to developing the sport of soccer.  We are excited to partner with such an elite event to start our official Surf Cup Championship Series. We are committed to providing a platform for top quality teams to compete regardless of their league platform. Our sport needs this”, said Brian Enge, Surf Sports COO.

Registration is open through June 16th. Be sure to sign up, as the event will sell out! Teams that have already registered for the Crossfire Challenge do not need to re-register.
